Annual Parish Meeting - April 2019

Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting of Eastville, Midville and New Leake held in Eastville, Midville And New Leake held in the village hall on Monday 15 April 2019 at 6.50PM

1. Present:  Cllrs Waltham, Thorold, Baker and Nunn (Chairman).  There were 26 members of the public present together with Lee Marsh of Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue

2. Apologies:  Apologies were accepted from Dist Cllr Dickinson

3. Welcome

The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting and outlined the proceedings.  

4. Parish Council Annual report to parishioners

Cllr Nunn gave his annual report which included information about Triton Knoll grants becoming available, the defibrillator sited on the office wall at Grants and the well supported First Aid course run by the Red Cross.  The Parish Council now pay for the grass cutting at the Churchyards in Eastville, Midville and New Leake.  Thanks were expressed to Cllrs Sinfield, Upfold, Anderson and Williams, who have all resigned for personal reasons, for all the time they have given to the parishes.  There are now four vacancies on the Parish Council, if anyone present is interested please let us know.

5. Approve and sign minutes of the last year’s Annual Parish Meeting held on Monday 20 April 2018

The minutes were read out by the Chairman, approved and signed as a true record.

6. Presentation:  Safety in the Home, given by Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue

A very interesting presentation was given, where everyone learned something.  Time was given for questions afterwards.

The Chairman thanked Lee Marsh, who then left the meeting.

7. Presentations for the 2019 Parish Plan funding of £3500:

a. Playing Field Committee

The Chairman of the Playing field Committee outlined the work that has been carried out and what the future plans are.  The grant is required to provide seating, picnic benches and a woodland walk.  Questions were asked and answered.

b. St Jude’s Church

A representative of St Jude’s outlined the plans to replace the final windows at the front of the Church.  The amount required to finish the work to the windows is £1600.00.  Questions were asked and answered.

8. Voting 

a. Ballot slips were made available to everyone eligible to vote.

b. Voting closed at 8.30pm

9.    Result

a. The votes were counted by two independent residents.  

b. The Chairman announced the result of the vote – to give St Jude’s £1600 and the remaining £2900.00 would go to the Playing Field Committee.:  

c. The cheques will be made out at the next Parish Council meeting.

The Chairman closed the meeting at 8.40pm and thanked everyone for attending and also thanked the people in the kitchen serving the refreshments.
