Public forum prior to meeting on 13 March 2023
There was one member of the public present, he came to see the Clerk and introduced himself to the Parish Council.
Minutes of the meeting of Eastville, Midville And New Leake Group Parish Council held on Monday 13 March 2023 at 7.25pm in the Eastville, Midville & New Leake Village Hall
1. Apologies for absence
Apologies: Apologies were received from County Cllr Bowkett.
Present: Cllrs Thorold, Scott, Baker and Nunn (Chair)
Also present: Dist Cllr Dickinson
2. To receive reports from representatives on outside bodies
a. Dist Cllr Dickinson read out her email, which will be forwarded to Councillors. She bought along some nomination packs for the upcoming election.
b. County Cllr Bowkett reported, by email, that the work on potholes by the school is imminent.
3. To receive declarations of interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011
There were no declarations of interest.
4. Notes of the meeting held on 13 February 2023 to be approved and signed as the minutes
It was proposed by Cllr Baker and seconded by Cllr Thorold that the minutes be signed as a true record.
5. Clerk’s report
The Clerk reported that two cheques had been returned by the bank and need to be replaced.
6. Chairman’s report
A directional sign at the Duke of Wellington junction needs to be cleaned, the handyman will be asked to do this.
7. Finance report
a. To approve the following payments:
i. Salaries (February) 327.29
ii. Clerk’s Expenses 19.47
iii. K & P Services (cleaning bus shelters/War Memorial) 40.00
iv. Malc Firth Landscapes (Clearing the memorial garden) 1063.20

v. E L Arnold (re-imbursement for Jubilee Bench) 1075.00

b. Balance at bank – not available, statements not bought to the meeting.
8. Planning applications received
There were no planning applications for this meeting.
9. To report planning decisions from ELDC
There were no planning decisions for this meeting
10. To receive reports for LCC highways/comments on speed sign data
a. There were no new highways issues to report.
b. The data has been sent to Councillors.
11. Memorial Garden
a. Jubilee Bench
The bench has not yet been delivered
b. Kitchen at St Jude’s
Cllr Scott will ask for the quotes to be sent direct to the Clerk.
c. Any other matter
i. Malc Firth Landscapes will be asked for ideas about landscaping the memorial garden.
ii. Anglian Water will need to be contacted about the sewerage issue they were going to investigate.
12. Coronation gifts for children
Following discussion it was resolved to purchase commemorative coins in a case for
children up to primary school age. An advert will be put on the Community Facebook page.
13. Matters for the next agenda
There were no additional matters for the next agenda.
14. Date of next meeting
The next meeting will be held on Monday 17 April 2023 at 7.15pm in the Eastville Midville & New Leake Village Hall with a public forum from 7.00pm.
